Change: That’s the buzzword at election time. “Vote for me if you want change.” “Are you tired of the old way of doing things?” “I am different; vote for me!” “I have a new way of doing business!” Orthopedic surgeons are usually quick adopters of change too. We all want safer and less invasive surgical techniques that provide quicker recovery and less pain. We want newer surgical techniques that provide less risk and greater dependable benefit. We seek techniques with proven track records. We don’t want fad therapies. Unsubstantiated Internet claims abound of amazing results with this quick fix or miracle juice/pill Beware! If is sounds to good to be true, it probably is!
Change at Tri-State Orthopedics Surgeons (TSOS) is a constant companion as we keep up to date with the latest techniques and treatment options for our patients. The office arena is always busy as we strive to stay abreast of the latest Medicare and insurance program changes that are thrown at us in the form of rule changes, coverage issues, and precertifications. Change — we count on it. At TSOS we seek changes that provide benefits to our patients. Not all new technologies have stood the test of time and evaluation. That is why it is important to discuss new Internet treatments and technologies with your orthopedic surgeon. He or she can help wade through the quagmire of accurate (or inaccurate) claims, promising technologies, medicines, and proposed treatments. Come see us at TSOS for the right kind of change.
Sincerely,
Phil Stiver, M.D.
