From your shoulder to the tips of your fingers, there are 64 bones – 10 in the shoulder and arm, 16 in the wrist, and 28 in the hand – and all of them work together, along with tendons, ligaments, and muscles to help you perform daily tasks like brushing your teeth, getting dressed, using your smartphone, typing on a keyboard, and lifting and carrying objects. You probably even know some people who use their hands to talk! But if you’ve got hand, wrist, elbow, or shoulder pain, any one of these activities can become difficult if not impossible.

In fact, up to 25% of all disability injuries in the U.S. involve the upper extremities, and 25% of athletic injuries involve the hand and wrist.
