Phillip L. Stiver, M.D. – Retired
General Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement
I have always enjoyed science and anatomy, even as a child. In college I was an orderly at our local hospital and found medicine fascinating and exciting. One of the surgeons at the hospital encouraged me to pursue a career in medicine. He really kept me interested and curious about the profession. He taught me that helping people can be very exciting and rewarding. He was right.
Today, I specialize in total joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. I also do a lot of knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgery in addition to trauma surgery. I especially enjoy working with patients who have a good attitude toward their own health and who want to get better. With every patient I strive to do the absolute best I can. I treat each patient as if they were a member of my family and give them confidence that they are receiving the best treatment and care. I take great pride in being an early adopter of the latest proven technologies. This knowledge allows me to provide the best possible treatment to my patients while minimizing their recovery times.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy music (piano, guitar, and vocal), exercising, running, cycling, golf, motorcycling (Gold Wing 1800), boating, and flying helicopters, planes, and gliders.
