Ross D. Whitacre, M.D.
In many respects, I’ve been involved with medicine my whole life. As a child, I was involved with high school soccer, and I experienced some sports-related issues. As I began my medical training in earnest, I was impressed by a physician who focused primarily on the benefits of establishing good doctor-patient relationships. He stressed the importance of treating patients with respect and understanding their issues. Today, I try to model myself after him. As a physiatrist, I genuinely enjoy the whole concept of pain management. I like making people feel better. It’s that simple.
My philosophy toward care is to listen to my patients. I encourage them to communicate so that I can better understand them. My goal is to help my patients feel better and get back to the healthy, active lifestyle they deserve.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy racquet sports, golf, following college hoops, hockey, football, and spending time with my children.
