Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons announce a merger with Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Owensboro (OSMO). The merger will become effective January 1, 2016. At that time, Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Owensboro will become a division of Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons.
This merger adds respected physicians from OSMO to Tri-State Orthopaedics all while continuing the same core values. It also allows for further expansion into the western Kentucky region that is built on an excellent foundation. Over 245 employees will come together over two states combining 119 years of experience.
The addition of OSMO to Tri-State Orthopaedics will create the largest independent orthopaedic specialty practice in the region with 30 physicians including 28 board-certified specialists, 6 nurse practitioners, 6 physician assistants, 7 locations, 4 therapy locations, and 3 MRI locations.
“As we continue to expand our footprint regionally, OSMO’s common vision made them a perfect fit to join efforts with Tri-State Orthopaedics. The economies of scale and pooled resources will allow us to invest more in infrastructure as we continue to tread in a complex healthcare environment.” said Phil Rawley, CEO of Tri-State Orthopaedics.
“Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Owensboro takes its mission to provide outstanding, patient-centered care to our community seriously. We believe that the merger with Tri-State Orthopaedics will continue to allow us to provide best-in-class care to our patients by combining the strengths of both organizations. We have served our community for decades and combining the resources of two like-minded organizations will only improve our ability to satisfy our main focus: providing top notch care to our region.” said Dr. Charles Milem, president of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Owensboro.
