General Orthopaedics / Joint Replacement / Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy / Sports Medicine

Orthopaedics has been my passion for many years. I was attracted to this specialty early in my medical school training when I saw smiles on patient’s faces and joy in their hearts when they returned to a pain-free normal life after living painful or crippling injury or illness. I attended Hanover College where I was able to grow academically and socially. It was there that I learned I had been blessed with special skills that combined learning, teaching, and counseling. I felt being a doctor would be a perfect fit to use these gifts.

I am particularly proud that in my medical community I have been able to lead the advancement of sports medicine and occupational medicine. A thorough assessment of the patient’s needs many times leads to restoration without surgery which is always the first goal. On the surgical side I led the advancement in arthroscopy surgery, such as ACL reconstruction of the knee and arthroscopy  rotator cuff repair of the shoulder. In joint replacement I helped bring ROBOTIC joint replacement to this region. Partial knee replacements, which have a very quick recovery have been a special interest of mine.

I recognize that it takes a team approach to get the outcome desired by the patient and surgeon. With this team approach our main goal is to restore people to the quality of life they deserve. I am excited to become a member of the patient-centered, advanced orthopaedic team of Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons in Vincennes.
